Research Alerts allows you to stay current with research and innovation activities at the University of Toronto. You will receive emails about the latest funding opportunities and awards, partnership opportunities, commercialization activity, new technologies and startups, and much more!

To receive customized notifications on research topics, click on the Sign Up tab to the right.

When you sign up, you choose topics and categories that are of interest to you. When an alert is published that matches your categories, it is e-mailed directly to you. You can also search the site using the search fields, or browse through the topics by category.

What kinds of topics are covered by Research Alerts?

Research Alerts capture activities that have a multi-divisional and/or broad institutional impact on the U of T research and innovation community. Alerts are primarily focused on activities that are hosted or led by the Division of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation (VPRI) but can include items led by other Divisions that are open to a broad cross-section of research and innovation community members.

Typical examples of topics/content include:

  • Research and innovation funding and awards opportunities;
  • Partnership, commercialization and entrepreneurship opportunities;
  • Research and innovation related policies and guidelines, e.g. financial management of funded projects;
  • Research and innovation sessions; e.g. workshops, training, presentations, events, etc.;
  • Research system-related announcements; e.g. AMS notifications, system changes, outages, etc.;
  • Lectures or events that are for the overall research and innovation community (e.g., research security information sessions).

What kinds of topics are NOT covered by Research Alerts?

  • Lectures, events or announcements that are intended for a more targeted audience, such as items directed at a single Academic Division or Unit.
  • Funding or award opportunities that are administered by and limited to an Academic Division or Unit.
  • Promotion of non-research and innovation programs or activities.
